For many of Dr. Jonathan Grant’s patients, facelifts help turn back the hands of time and restore a youthful, rested appearance. As a standalone procedure, a facelift is an effective way to tighten loose skin, smooth creases and enhance the definition of the chin and jawline. Incorporating other non-surgical treatments accentuates facelift outcomes for a more dramatic transformation.
Read on as Dr. Grant reveals his picks for procedures that complement the results of a facelift.
Injectable Fillers
Injectable fillers can be used to plump up facial folds and add volume to the cheeks, temples and lips for softer contours. Filler products are extremely popular at our practice because they are quick to administer and require virtually no downtime. Patients are usually in and out the door within 30 or 45 minutes of the injections and can immediately resume their normal routine afterward in most cases. Depending on the filler product, the injections should be repeated every three to nine months to maintain the effects, though some filler products provide benefit that lasts even longer.
Laser Skin Resurfacing
Facelift surgeries improve the overall tautness and texture of the skin but not the tone. For problems such as hyperpigmentation, sun spots and chronic redness, laser skin resurfacing can be an appealing solution. By removing the outer layer of damaged, wrinkled skin and revealing fresh, healthy skin, laser skin resurfacing can noticeably improve these kinds of problems.
Dermabrasion
Like laser skin resurfacing, dermabrasion treatments, like Diamond Glow®, can improve skin tone problems by removing the outer layer of damaged skin. Instead of using laser energy, dermabrasion involves removing the outer layer of dead skin cells with suction and gentle abrasion. Topical products can then be infused to get better penetration and more significant effects. Dermabrasion treatments with infusion, like Diamond Glow ®, are particularly useful for treating rough skin texture, prominent pores, pigmentation problems, and creating a more beautiful and even complexion.
Botox® Injections
Botox® injections are a quick and minimally invasive way to minimize dynamic wrinkles —wrinkles caused by repeated facial muscle movements — that a facelift does not address. By weakening specific muscles, Botox® creates smoother and softer-looking skin. Many of our patients rely on Botox® to smooth lines and wrinkles around the corners of the eyes, eyebrows and forehead. Botox® injections should be repeated about every three to six months to maintain the effects.
